Do Your Carpets Need a Little TLC?
Breathe new life back into your carpets. No item in your home absorbs more dirt and debris than your carpets, and nothing else affects your homes appearance in quite the same way. Many carpets available today have been treated with a stain resistant coating. However, even carpets that have been treated are not completely stain proof. ServiceMaster Clean has spent years developing cleaning technologies and methods to remove even the toughest stains, such as wine, pet stains, coffee & ink.

FAQ’S
What is your carpet cleaning method?
The most common method we use is hot water extraction, otherwise known as steam cleaning. It is the most recommended method by carpet manufacturers and their warranties. Adversely one cleaning method does not fit all carpets. In these unique situations we can clean by following the manufacturer’s recommendations.
What do you consider a per room/area size and how much does it cost?
Like most companies, SMQC charges to clean per area or room. We differ by allowing up to 300 square feet (ex. 15X20) for standard areas as opposed to 200 square feet like some of our competitors. Non-standard areas such as halls, baths, etc. are priced separately and typically at a lower price. Please call for clear, hassle free pricing. Visit our specials section for great deals!
Do you move furniture?
Typically our customers will only have us carpet clean areas where the cleaning wand can reach. If needed, our professionally trained technicians are more than happy to move furniture, and most often free of charge. We do not recommend moving large or highly valued items such as chine cabinets, beds, electronics, pianos, etc. If you would like to discuss furniture moving in detail please call 316-943-SPOT to speak with a representative.
How long does it take to clean my carpets?
On average it usually takes a little over an hour for three rooms of carpet cleaning. This is for the entire process including set up and can easily vary due to room accessibility, carpet soiling, spot removal, etc.
Do you guarantee removing stains from carpet?
We cannot guarantee stain removal. Carpet can come into contact with certain elements that cause permanent damage to carpet fibers. This includes discoloration, fraying, and carpet wear to name a few. During the initial walk through our technician will inspect the carpet but cannot always determine the degree of damage without trying to remove the spots first.
Can you remove pet spots and odor?
Most pet spots can be removed or lightened a great deal as long as the spot is addressed quickly and has not been set in by another cleaning product. Odors are neutralized at the source with our specialty formulated products for pets. If the source is deep in carpet pad or backing, the carpet may need to be replaced.
Can spots reappear after carpet cleaning?
Some spots can reappear due to the spot absorbing clear to the carpet backing and pad initially. These deep spots may wick to the surface while the carpet is drying. Please call 316-943-SPOT as soon as this happens.
Does carpet cleaning attract dirt faster?
This can happen if the cleaning solution is not thoroughly extracted or rinsed out of the carpet. We eliminate residue with the combination of utilizing our professionally trained technicians and profound cleaning process.
What is the big deal with carpet protection?
Carpet protector is a simple, cost effective step after cleaning that is essential for anyone who wants to prolong the life of their carpet. By reapplying a protective barrier that was once on your carpet from the factory, you are resisting potentially permanent stains and carpet wear from occurring.
How long will it take to dry after cleaning?
It should take 4 hours on average for carpets to dry after cleaning. This can vary greatly depending on numerous factors such as carpet type, temperature, humidity, etc. If furniture was moved during the cleaning process you should wait 24 hours before removing the protective pads from the furniture to avoid color transfer. We also recommend minimal walking on the carpet until it is completely dry.
Can you clean to my carpet manufacturers specifications?
We generally meet or exceed carpet manufacturers’ specifications. There are several local carpet stores who actually recommend our company for warranty cleanings.
Carpet Care Tips
What can I do to keep my carpet clean?
It is estimated that 70% to 80% of carpet soil in a home is dry material that can be vacuumed. We recommend vacuuming traffic areas regularly and all areas once a week. You can also keep dirt out of your home by placing a welcome mat.
How often should I have my carpets cleaned?
On average, we clean homes once a year to maintain a clean appearance and extend carpet life. This is also what most manufacturers recommend for their warranty.
Are there any home remedies for carpet cleaning?
Carpet cleaning can be a difficult task without proper training and products designed to clean specific spots. Before attempting to clean anything on your carpet make sure you test on an area of carpet that is normally not visible. Always use clean white towels and blot from outside the spot, working toward the center. We recommend calling our office at 316-943-9834 before cleaning for any questions or concerns that you may have. Please remember these are suggested tips only! SMQC cannot be held accountable for any damage resulting from cleaning or spotting. You are cleaning at your own risk!
