We ask this question because it is important for your company, office complex, or school’s security to know who has access to the building at any given time, and to ensure that any outside vendor has gone through a security check.
Think about chatting with your commercial cleaning company’s owner to review security measures such as:
- Do employees undergo a criminal background check?
- What is their policy regarding keyholders, access cardholders, etc.? Who keeps the access card? A supervisor?
- If a key or access card is lost or stolen, does their policy require them to report it to you ASAP?
- Is the company licensed, bonded, and insured in case one of their employees steals or commits another crime while they have access to your building?
Any reputable commercial cleaning company has written policies regarding all of these security measures and should be able to provide you with a copy if they haven’t already.
