Your home or business is often the showcase of how you live your life. When visitors come, is your home or business ready to be the star?
Use these tips when you don't have enough time to prepare for unexpected guests.
1. Pick up clutter that normally doesn't belong in rooms you will be using. If you don't have time to put it where it belongs, put it on your bed. This is a funny tip, but that reminds you to put it away properly before you can go to bed at the end of the day.
2. Run a duster, vacuum or dust mop around the furniture, shelves and light fixtures/fans. Wipe down anything that cannot be dusted. Nothing makes an area look cleaner faster than removing visible dust and cobwebs.
3. Spot clean any spills or stains. If you don't have time for a deep cleaning, be sure to hit those spots for a overall even look to your floors and furniture so the eye is not drawn to obvious mess.
4. Vacuum carpets and mop hardwood floors and tile. This does not take long and is an easy way to remove a lot of dirt.
5. Clean the bathroom. You do not have to do a deep scrub if you don't have the time, but definitely wipe down everything with special attention to the sink and toilet. Replace your hand towels so they look and feel fresh. Nothing is worse than having to use someone else's dirty bathroom.
When you have a maintenance plan of cleaning your floors and furniture every 6 - 12 months, a quick dry mop or vacuum will make your floors and furniture look their best for unexpected guests.
